Enable India a non-profit organization, working on the ground for the last 2 decades and impacting thousands of Persons with disability. It is on a mission to build a sustainable Livelihood Ecosystem for millions of PwDs to attain a dignified life while having a positive impact on the economy and society. Its Academy focuses on comprehensive development and people skills in order to ensure that disabled candidates are well equipped to face work challenges in the corporate sector. Candidates gain exposure to real world environment and uses internship placements with incubator employment to help candidates practise skills and gain exposure to the corporate environment.
Seva-in-Action (SiA) in partnership with Enable India to work with different committees formed under Mission 1000 to train and create ecosystem of companies and other stakeholders for the Livelihoods of Persons with Severe, Developmental and Multiple Disabilities. Persons with sever disabilities developed through multiple exposure and training opportunities in employability & domain skills. Few of SiA candidates got paid internship in some companies. The concept of 'Mission 1000' was evolved in Seva-in-Action & it was coined by Shanti Raghavan from Enable India as a resource person of one day workshop on Skill Development and Employability for Persons with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (PWIDDs) for National Trust's (NT's) Registered Organisations.
